Who We Are
Uma Publications was established in 1982 by the educationist A. Sothinathan. It’s objective was to provide the Tamil reading community in Malaysia with their own publishing house, and to make available high quality educational material for Tamil schools. In 2011, A. Sothinathan was conferred the title ‘Datuk’ by the His Royal Highness Yang Di Pertuan Agong of Malaysia, in recognition of his contributions to Malaysian education.
Since inception, Uma Publications has consistently worked with the Malaysian Ministry of Education, The World Bank and educational authorities from Singapore, India, Switzerland and other nations, for the betterment of educational standards and materials worldwide.
